Because our ancestors did not eat certain foods, does that mean we should not eat those foods today?

For most of the history of humans on this planet, we did not eat dairy (except mother's milk), legumes (beans), or processed grain and sugar products. And for most of history, humans had little to no type 2 diabetes.

It is only in the last 10,000 years or so that humans began eating processed food, and that trend escalated starting with the industrial revolution. Now processed food is one of the main food sources for hundreds of millions of people.

I don't think that is a good thing. I am not saying to not eat dairy products as some say; or to not eat legumes (which includes peanuts) as others say; or to not eat any processed grains and sugars.

However, it is a good idea to limit yourself, especially when it comes to grain products and processed sugar products. I eat very few grain products and almost no sugar products.

In order to help control your diabetes, I recommend that you follow that advice too.
