Laughter, the Medicine That Heals
Laughter is great medicine for fighting stress. As you probably know, stress is one of the really tough things that we have to overcome as diabetics. For me, it is the single most difficult thing that I deal with in my fight to eliminate type 2 diabetes from my life.
Laughter makes the body relax, can decrease stress chemicals like cortisol, boosts the immune system, releases endorphins (those natural pain relievers), and can help you forget pain and lots of other things.
So try laughing more. If you just start laughing out loud, even though it is a fake laugh, it can help you feel better. And if you do that and keep laughing, pretty soon it will be real, uncontrollable, roll on the floor, laughter. Give it a try. It works!
